Funding for Assessment
On 15th March 2021, the DfE announced additional funding for students sitting GCSE & A Level exams (this does not apply to those resitting GCSE Maths / English, or sitting iGCSE or international A Levels)
We advise that you read the DfE guidance regarding the requirements for accessing grants here and ensure that you are following these should you be assessing students on behalf of an exam center.
It is at the discretion of the exam centre whether they will apply for any available grants, but you should be made aware of whether they intend to do so:
“They can also choose to provide some subjects within the grant, and others at a higher cost, if the centre feels it cannot deliver them within the criteria of the grant. Additionally, centres should not pass on additional charges to private candidates where they expect to receive a grant from the department which has not been paid or if payment has been delayed for any reason”
We strongly recommend that you have a written contract in place with exam centers prior to assessment where you are not assessing a student that you have a long term relationship with.
